CDC Newsletter - March 2007
E-mail vs. Hard CopyParents, CDC is trying to communicate in a variety of ways and we hope e-mail is effective. If you would like a hard copy of this newsletter, please pick up a copy from the table in the main hallway or download the PDF version.
TrafficI’m aware that morning drop-off can be hectic, but parents, please take every precaution as you drive in and out of the parking areas. Children and parents are often difficult to see behind tall SUV’s. Please slow your driving, hold hands with your child and park in appropriate parking spaces. Also, please do not leave valuables in your car, even if you are just running inside the building for a minute, and never leave children unattended. Safety may be inconvenient and time-consuming, but it is a habit we must always practice.
Warming UpParents, as the warmer weather approaches, please help the CDC staff and apply sunscreen and bug repellant to your children in the morning prior to the start of school. We go out early in the day and want to make sure all our children are protected.
Peanut ProductsSeveral of our CDC children have nut related allergies. Help us avoid potential problems – please do not send peanut products, including peanut butter, in lunches or snacks.
Lead in Food and RemediesThe Texas Department of Health wants all families to be aware of the potential hazards of lead poisoning. Pick up a flyer outside the CDC office for more information.
Clothing for the UkraineWe continue to collect clothing for children and adults in the Ukraine.
You can bring your items to the office; let us know if you need a receipt.
ChangesPlease notify the office in writing of address or phone changes. Also, the office needs to have release forms updated if additional people are allowed to pick-up your child.
