This second year of the Partnership for Missional Church
(PMC) is called the experimental phase. During this year
we explore some adaptive challenges to our missional life
in our community. To help us with this, the PMC Steering
Committee has asked the following members of our congregation
to form a Missional Engagement Team (MET): Sandy Bell, Nathan
Tillotson, Charme Robarts, Bethany Stevens, Rick Stevens,
Bob Thomas, Josue Villarreal, Matt Wood and Chad Woolery.
We hope to add a few more members to this core group over
the next few weeks. We thank them ahead of time for their
service to our church and thank the congregation for their
support.

Imagine
• a child hearing about God’s love for the first
time.
• children praying for each other.
• adults and teens modeling Jesus’ love to children.
• our kids sharing Christ with children around the
world.
• children serving each other.
This summer, our FLC will be transformed into a bubbling
science lab. Be a part of Skillman VBS the week of July
28-August 1, 2008. Please mark this date and commit your
children to attending. Participant and volunteer registration

Mission and Service Opportunities
As our efforts continue to explore mission and service
opportunities in our own city, two groups are going out
later this month. One group of 12 people will serve food
to the hungry at Union Gospel Mission, an organization begun
in Dallas in the 1940s. Union Gospel Mission depends on
volunteers to provide for the spiritual and physical needs
of the clients. You can read about the ministry at www.ugm.dallas.org.
This team is in place and will be led by Alan and Bonny
Green.
The second opportunity will be of interest to outdoor lovers.
The city of Dallas recently acquired Samuel Farm. Parts
of the land will be used for gardening with the produce
going to area food banks including Central Dallas Ministries.
They have asked us to consider helping with one of the gardens.
Our first task on Feb 23 will be to help paint and caulk
some of the storage areas on the land while we wait for
the time to break up the soil and get ready to plant. Supervisors
from Samuel Farm will direct the work. 20-30 volunteers
are needed. There are sign up sheets on the end of each
pew today

Hispanic Ministry News
In the Hispanic Bible class, we will study the NewLife
Behavior curriculum, which helps new Christians mature in
their relationship with Christ and one another. Our
hope is that this study will help us reach others for the
kingdom. Many people look for opportunities to start over,
to make things right, and to learn from their life experiences.
NewLife Behavior will help us evaluate our life experiences
and become a new creation; one that honors God, family,
and community (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Please, continue to pray for our Hispanic ministry and New
Life Behavior.
