Holy Tuesday

Holy Tuesday

Debbie Crabb has been sharing her wisdom and joy with many of the ladies at Skillman, and has graciously let us all in on her humor and on these beautiful thoughts about Holy Week.

The significance of Holy Tuesday is not easily grasped. In a single day, Jesus would simultaneously condemn the religious authorities while confirming His deity.  He was issued various challenges by the Pharisees and Sadducees over subjects such as marriage in heaven, paying taxes to Caesar, and the source of His authority (Luke 20:1-21:38).

I like this picture of the gathering in the Temple.  First off, this Jesus looks beautiful in blue! Long ago Lanny Mullins wrote a Passion Play for church. In a scene of all women, he wrote the dialog for them to be describing seeing Jesus.  One actor’s line was

“ooh, his dazzling smile”.

Was that you Barbara Gray? Anyway, I now see Jesus with a dazzling smile and after today, he wears light blue!

And look at us in the background! Attentive, respectful, eager to learn. None of them worrying about where and how to get ham for Sunday! (I know, so bad! Forgive my weird humor! ) I see Verba and Marietta nodding their heads in agreement, Billie Faye taking notes, JoAnn Banister praying, Katie Sewell in her pretty red vest, Laura trying to see over her tall Hebrew friends, and that’s me, looking at the camera….

I hope this picture is not too blurry and that you can zoom in. If not, you can look at it where I obtained the pic:

The lessons to learn from his actions on Tuesday are practical lessons: BE faithful, watchful, and prepared. Good traits to have during quarantine too!

Love all. Let me know what you are thinking about having for Sunday lunch!
